In 2018, California sasscore outfit SeeYouSpaceCowboy and Kentucky false-grind outfit SecondGradeKnifeFight released an EP that is nothing but absolute chaos! This split was released on cassette through Pattern Recognition Records and on vinyl through Zegema Beach Records, Miss The Stars Records, Dark Trail Records, Dingleberry Records, Longrail Records, R.I.P. In Peace Records, and Rakkerpak Records.
If you love your mathcore with a sassy twist, SeeYouSpaceCowboy’s side is for you! Their four songs are an unrelenting force of chaos that will send any mosh pit into a fit of fury. The harsh, yet incredibly sass-dominant, vocals stay attuned to the heavy-hitting, yet at times groovy, musical accompaniment. This side is definitely a must-listen if you want a modern take of MySpace-era screamo! A year later, the band would re-release these songs on their compilation Songs For The Firing Squad through Pure Noise Records.
If you love false grind bands like The Sawtooth Grin and TheCheeseBurgerPicnic, you should check out SecondGradeKnifeFight’s side! With panicky riffs, explosive drumming, and screeching vocals that sound almost inhuman, this one-man project is insanity cranked up to 11. These three songs would later be re-released on a compilation entitled 2 full years of utter nonsense.
