It’s amazing seeing all these cybergrind bands making incredible music and having fun with it, and Sleeping On Stardust from Minnesota is one of those bands! With their upcoming EP Answer, this one-human project presents a release that takes you on a musical journey that literally sounds like a video game with breakdowns.
Sleeping On Stardust’s Answer is nothing short of an adventure, and an amazing-sounding adventure at that! They present a version of cybergrind that some listeners may deem “nintendocore,” as they combine their heavy—and at times melodic—sound with 8-bit chiptune. The harsh, raw vocals range from high to low, with a dash of clean singing in a few of the songs. The lyrics are hard to interpret, but they seem like some kind of inner struggle between what’s real and what’s beyond this world, between faith and doubt. Overall, this is a fantastic release, and it’s a must-listen for anyone who wants a heavy-hitting taste of the cybergrind scene!
